The past week has been deeply painful for Minneapolis and America alike, as we were once again witness to the death of a Black man at the hands of the police. This is not the first time this has happened in America, much less Minneapolis.
There is much work to be done in our community and our country to ensure that Black lives are safe to live and thrive. There is also much work to be done in our local ad community to raise up our Black talent, follow their leadership and hear their voices.
Let’s take this time to focus on the task at hand: justice for George Floyd, the rebuilding of our great city and protection and celebration of our Black community and their allies.
Black Lives Matter unequivocally – at AdFed, within the greater ad community, and in this country. We need to do more and we welcome your ideas and criticisms to help us move forward.
