Thanks to everyone who joined us at Fredrikson this Monday, January 29 for Coffee & Conversations. Attendees enjoyed a delicious breakfast spread and helpful, applicable insights from Fredrikson’s panel of lawyers.
Much of the conversation, facilitated by John Pickerill and Courtney Thompson, centered around AI. Steve Helland walked us through a wide variety of topics regarding the increased use and prevalence of artificial intelligence – best practices for integrating AI into workflows and strategy; navigating risk tolerance and clearance; how privacy laws are impacting the use of AI; and how agencies can leverage the ever-growing suite of AI tools in compliance with advertising standards.
We also dove into many of the recent updates in Minnesota employment law. Ashley Thronson spoke in depth on the new requirements regarding paid sick leave, paid family leave, salary transparency, and non-compete agreements. Event attendees asked questions about compliance based on company size, how these laws impact independent contractors, and how laws are interpreted and applied when companies have decentralized teams across multiple states or countries.
