Who you are and What You’ll Do

The Client Strategy Director is responsible for the vision and strategic direction for the assigned True Media client teams as measured by the performance of the client profitability, retention and client feedback. Manage multiple vertical teams through the ability to understand client marketing and business objectives; guide the development of high-level strategic plans for key clients and monitor efforts to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities. (Other duties may be assigned)

Media Brief – Ensure smooth client onboarding into vertical groups. Mentor and train in areas of improvement. Instill True Process to Associate Media Director with the ability to problem solve/flex processes as needed for client needs while withholding core purposes and needs within True Independent Holdings. Ensure Associate Media Director accountability to a quality Media Brief including and the details required for other teams within True Independent Holdings to innovate and activate.
Research – Oversee that teams are effectively utilizing true systems and available research to drive efficiencies and innovations. Lead training of teams and proliferation of knowledge amongst teams in specific regards to core competencies of Client Strategy role.
Measurement Strategy – Ensure Associate Media Director accountability to ensure a sound measurement strategy, laddering to business goals is laid out, collaboration is occurring with key True Independent Holdings stakeholders and client alignment is secured. Mentor and train in areas for improvement.
Client Strategy – Ensure Associate Media Director accountability in creating Channel Strategy that supports the measurement strategy and garner client approval. Clearly articulate and collaborate with Activation Strategy to ensure a smooth process into the tactical plan. Mentor and train in areas for improvement. Supervise assigned Associate Media Directors in conducting their assigned duties as well as develop as strategic thinkers and leaders. Involvement with Client Satisfaction survey.
Client Relationship – Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior client executives; proactively and persuasively delivering timely guidance on digital, consumer, and competitive trends affecting the clients business and sharing through publishing or presentations. Troubleshooting with Associate Media Directors on client and business issues before elevating to Senior Vice President. Maintain understanding of vertical specialty reporting into them. Involvement with Client Satisfaction survey.
Revenue – Oversee daily operations to ensure teams are properly utilized and managed to exceed client expectations. Identify high organic growth to maximize business opportunities. Participate/ lead new business opportunities. Revenue P&L and develop action plan to improve key metrics
Supervisory Responsibilities – Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Ten years or more of progressive agency media experience, including supervisory roles.
Successful participation in leading strategy for new business.
Deep knowledge and understanding of industry tools and systems and their potential application for across the agency and agency client portfolio. Demonstrate a high level of understanding of media fundamentals, including planning, buying, interactive and social, media math, audience development and communication goals.
History of effective management of both direct reports and indirect reports contributing to assigned client portfolio, as well as high-level management of tactical plan development and all related processes for each client in the assigned portfolio.
History of effective management of process and business effectiveness for agency and clients within and existing portfolio. Ability to maneuver large and highly complex clients and manage against multiple complexities including independently stepping into an amorphous situation and put structure into place.

Education
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, degree or concentration in advertising, marketing or communications preferred
