Job Summary
Explore Minnesota is in search of a future-focused digital strategy manager to lead the agency’s digital marketing and web content strategy. The position will help drive integration/collaboration between marketing, communications, and industry relations teams to lead oversight of exploreminnesota.com and bridge the gap between technology/capabilities with marketing strategy to build engaging personalized experiences for customers. The ideal candidate will manage and execute day-to-day projects and high-level strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include:

Lead website development: Direct and manage digital strategies for exploreminnesota.com to inspire travel and advance the Explore Minnesota brand.

Marketing integration and fulfillment: Lead digital strategy through the development and execution of marketing efforts in collaboration with internal marketing team and agency of record to increase visitor volume and spending.

Integration of technical and digital initiatives across multiple agency units to align with strategic goals and priorities.

Use a wide range of digital channels, including social media, email campaigns, website content, landing pages to create marketing content and increase brand awareness

Management of social media, web content and customer service staff to support the website and content development and distribution.

Management of website agency and digital strategy budget to ensure projects are completed within timelines and are done efficiently and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment.

Five (5) years* of digital marketing experience, minimum of three (3) years* advertising, marketing, or interactive agency experience

*Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Writing, Project Management or other closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute one (1) year of experience; master’s degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience; PhD substitutes for twenty-four (24) months of experience.

Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

Three (3) years of experience leading staff, directing work, and employee development.
Experience with marketing automation tools, project management software, database management, etc.
Knowledge of modern marketing methodologies, marketing automation technology, segmentation techniques, and campaign analytics.
Basic web design knowledge and HTML/CSS skills.
Knowledge of SEO strategy.
Understanding of customer behaviors, the sales funnel and the customer journey
Written and oral communication skills, consulting skills, and ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships.
Ability to manage time, operate efficiently, meet deadlines for all types of production, maintain multiple projects simultaneously, and deal with frequent interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Content Management Systems (Drupal is preferred).

Knowledge of user experience (UX) design and best practices.

Experience with strategic development, analyzing data and making recommendations to leadership.

Proficiency utilizing Google Analytics.

Knowledge of ranking factors and Google algorithms.

Qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills for consumer behavior/intent as well as technical issues.

Ability to analyze data in order to make strategic recommendations and to consolidate and communicate complex information in plain language.

Project management and strong vendor relations experience.

Experience managing contracts and budgets.

Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Listening skills and strong presentation skills.

Knowledge of accessibility requirements.

Familiarity with and experience adhering to the State of Minnesota’s accessibility policies and standards is desired.
