The AdFed Mentorship Circle program is designed to allow members to individually interact with industry mentors by meeting them in an informal group setting called a Circle Group. These Mentorship Circle Events are held four times a year and offer networking, discussion and group mentorship based on areas of interest. The AdFed Mentorship Circle program does not facilitate the match an individual mentor and a mentee. However, these events are designed to allow a mentor and potential mentee to make a connection, and possibly develop a mentor/mentee relationship outside of AdFed. Participants can also choose to simply attend quarterly Circle Events where mentorship will happen via group discussions.

The format of this event allows participants and industry professionals the chance to talk one on one and in a group discussion setting.  It is a great opportunity to learn from the best and the brightest in the industry, network with professionals and learn from your peers.

Adrian Ho, Founding Partner, Zeus Jones
Guest Mentor: Strategy & Planning


Adrian Ho is a founding partner at Zeus Jones. At Zeus Jones we believe actions speak louder than words, that modern brands are defined by what they do not what they say.  Adrian was formerly director of strategic planning at Fallon in Minneapolis. Adrian is a regular speaker and writes about the evolution in brands and branding along with developments in technology at zeusjones.com/blog.

Joe Cecere, VP of Creative, Little & Company

As creative director, Joe manages a team of 15 senior designers and writers, ensuring the creative excellence of all Little & Company projects, and works closely with account directors in the development of strategy and creative direction. He has been featured in the HOW Design Annual, Communication Arts and Art Directors Club, among others. He holds a visual communications degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Cathy Paper, Coach & Consultant

Cathy Paper is a world class performance consultant.  She works primarily with motivational speakers, authors and dynamic workgroups to create better results through inspiration, reflection and inspiring exercises.  With seventeen years of experience in leadership development and change management, Paper knows how to improve people and is a trusted advisor for companies, individuals and associations such as Best Buy, Paramount Studios, Ameriprise, Harvey Mackay, National Association of Women Business Owners.  She holds her Master’s Degree from St. Thomas in Organization Development and a BA from Williams College.

Grant Barrick, Senior Product Manager, Minute Clinic

Grant Barrick is a Sr. Product Manager for MinuteClinic, a subsidiary of CVS Caremark Corporation.  MinuteClinic created the retail healthcare concept and has developed a brand that has become synonymous with the space.  Prior to joining MinuteClinic, Grant held global product management and strategic consulting roles with 3M in addition to managing large operational units across the country for John Hancock Funds.  Grant has a BA in History from Carleton College and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
 

Matt Burgess, Copywriter, Olson

Matt joined OLSON in 2008 as a copywriter. His previous agency experience includes stints at Campbell-Mithun and Best Buy Advertising. He’s held freelance and/or internship positions at Colle + McVoy, JWT New York, and FCB Seattle. Brand experience includes Best Buy, Burger King, Breyers Ice Cream, Bisquick, Geek Squad, H&R Block, Hefty, Land O’Lakes, Nature Valley, Nexxus, Partnership for a Drug Free America, Pop Secret, St. Ives, Starkey, Taco Bell, The Hartford, Toro, United Way of Minnesota and VH-1. Matt attended Miami Ad School (where he currently teaches) for copywriting after receiving his BA in journalism/advertising and the University of Minnesota.

Julie Elepano, Marketing Manager, 3M
Guest Mentor: Marketing


Julie Elepano is a Marketing Manager in the Automotive Aftermarket Division at 3M.  In her role, Julie has responsibility for bringing automotive appearance and performance products, and promotional programs, to retailers like AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, WalMart, and Amazon.com.   Prior to her role in the automotive aftermarket, Julie served as a communications consultant at 3M. She has a master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University, and BAs in Behavioral Science and Communication from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee.

Erin Julin, Digital Artist, Olson

As Studio Lead, Erin s responsible for the Studio and its day-to-day operations. She also touches nearly every piece of work going out the door for Country Inns & Suites, Fifth Third Bank and Marvin Windows & Doors. Previously, Erin worked at New Control in Chicago for 5 years as an art director, working on clients like VISA, Bank of America, US Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Wells Fargo and Capital One.

Jason Sack, Director of User Experience, Zeus Jones

Jason Sack is the Director of User Experience at Zeus Jones, where he collaborates with business, creative, and technical teams to define clear user experience strategies for interactive projects. Prior to arriving at Zeus Jones, Sack was at space150 and a Professor of Interactive Design at Art Institutes International. His passion for user-centered design has evolved over a decade of experience, drawing on an interdisciplinary approach to creativity and technology. His fascination with the network age is built on the belief that interactive design can improve people’s lives. Previously, Sack served as a technical consultant with companies such as 3M Corporation and HealthPartners.  Sack holds a Masters degree from California State University and a B.A. from the University of Minnesota.

As the Interactive Account Director at COLLE+McVOY, Pladson plays a pivotal role in new business initiatives for the agency and oversees digital strategy across multiple brands including Yahoo!, ESPN, Johnson & Johnson and Land O’ Lakes.  Prior to C+M, Pladson held senior interactive marketing positions at Digital River, space150 and most recently Fanball.com.
